I’ve been doing this wedding thang for quite some time now. It’s a first for our couple. It’s my job to guide them and get the best out of their performance. Their nerves are kickin in and they just want to get it right. I get it. Some are performers and some like to keep it simple. My job is to figure out how to get the most out of them without making it too stressful. Bride’s: @TuyenNDinh, Groom’s: @Chai_City I like how the circle is so concentrated with all the energy in that one spot. I’m wondering. Why don’t they ever form a square or triangle? Is the circle the go to shape? Bride’s: @TuyenNDinh, Groom’s: @Chai_City I like that! I like that when guests just let loose. Being free and in the moment. I’m all about that. You’re not going to get this time back. Bride’s: @TuyenNDinh, Groom’s: @Chai_City As a DJ, there are times when you stop thinking about what to play and you are IN THE MODE. You’ve won the crowd, you can do no wrong. Whatever you throw at them, they accept it. A trust relationship has been formed. Bride’s: @TuyenNDinh, Groom’s: @Chai_City Aaron and Tuyen decided to extend their night by an extra hour. This means more time to drink and party. They knew their priorities. They had a list of tables visits, greetings etc. to complete. I don’t blame them for having another hour to do something just for themselves. Good to be selfish! Bride’s: @TuyenNDinh, Groom’s: @Chai_City This playlist was carefully crafted by Aaron and Tuyen. They presented me with a list of songs dear to them. They had a specific vision in mind and they needed someone to carry it out. Me! Of course:) After a whole day of paying respects to the elders and guests, they wanted to just let go. Their way!Bride’s: @TuyenNDinh, Groom’s: @Chai_City Oh! They were ready. They were ready to throw down. Aaron and Tuyen wanted to go hard. Playing the normal weddings songs were not in the cards that night. Bride’s: @TuyenNDinh, Groom’s: @Chai_City I live for those little moments. Yes! I see you! Those moments when you don’t quite get the next song and then you realize…..Damn! Venue/Caterer/Bar: @thecolonyhouse People think it’s just DJs pressing play. Not true! Not true! We have many thoughts going through our minds. We need to think 3-4 songs ahead. Some factors for the next song could be demographic, familiarity, couple’s wishes to name a few. We need to handle requests all while mixing. (At the same time keeping a smile on our face!) Venue/Caterer/Bar: @thecolonyhouse
