THE EBELL LONG BEACH WEDDING DJ / GIOVANN + RACHAEL
Prior to our wedding, Rachael had one small request. Rachael: Can you please play a small jazz song for my grandmother? She’s very important to me and I want to include her.
On the night of 6/17/17 at The Ebell of Long Beach, we did just that! Only I noticed that this wasn’t your ordinary grandma! Later on during the dinner, I played “What a Fool Believes” by the Doobie Brothers. She was waving her hands in the air and dancing in her seat. I quickly ran up to her and said. “So you like this!?” She replied, “Oh yeah, this brings back memories!” Right after, the whole table started wiggling in their seats and laughing. Rachael’s grandmother wasn’t going to waste her time. She was the first person to get the dance floor. (This was in the middle of dinner) I guess you could say she was the party starter. Eventually, everybody followed as well. Especially Giovann, who brought his own infectious version of dance “bluegrass style. (Imagine “O Brother, Where art thou?”) Rachael’s father kept on shaking my hand throughout the night. Giovann’s best man gave me the nod of approval over a dozen times. Oh Yeah! A large standing plant fell on top of my head during my Dj set. (That happens when you rock the house!) I honestly thought someone was patting me on the back. I’ll take it.
